Potato and tuna au gratin

Every time Sofía brings out the ladle and sends in one of her dishes for our recipe competition, our taste buds start to leap with joy and our sleeves roll up, ready for action. And with good reason: look, just look at that potato and tuna au gratin.

Don’t you just want to sink your teeth into it?

Well we have good news: it’s easy to prepare.  Let’s get cracking!

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg potatoes.
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 300 g yellowfin una in olive oil
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 50 g grated emmental cheese
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Clean the potatoes and put them on the boil covered in water with salt. When they start to boil, let them simmer for about 20 minutes (before removing them check that they are properly cooked in the middle using a knife).
  2. Once they are ready, peel them and put them through the blender.
  3. Add the butter and the milk, mixing all the ingredients well.
  4. Add salt and black pepper.
  5. Separately, crumble the tuna and mix it with the chopped hard-boiled eggs.
  6. Grease an oven dish with butter and add half of the mashed potato.
  7. On top, add the egg and tuna mixture and cover with the rest of the mashed potato.
  8. Sprinkle on the grated cheese and cook au gratin under the grill.

Very appetising, thanks Sofía!

*Note: Sofía tells us that for this dish we can also use the microwave, both to boil the potatoes and to grill the cheese.
