Fried or oven-baked tuna pasties

Fried or oven-baked tuna pasties

Today we’re going from “I know that I know nothing” to I know that I want some pasties like those right now! Look at how creamy the filling is in the recipe that Sócrates sent in to us for the first time to take part in our recipe competition. And what to say about the crunchy crust?

We now know something else: that you all want some pasties like these too. So how about we cut out the philosophy and get to work? Read more

You can’t imagine how happy we were to receive today’s recipe! All your recipes liven up our day and make us smack our lips, but who doesn’t feel excited when they check their letterbox and it isn’t a letter from the bank, or a bill for water, electricity or something else? Mª Isabel sent us her letter in the post and it just shows you how fond she is of craftsmanship, from hand-made breadcrumbs to the dispatch method, including the careful lack of focus in the photo and the choice of our gourmet tinned food.  ;)

Tuna meatballs

Tuna Meatballs

Roberta’s tuna meatballs are a perfect option for a classy aperitif. Don’t worry: they’re extremely easy to prepare! I promise!  You won’t need any béchamel sauce, nor will you end up with 20 dirty pots and pans after you’ve finished cooking. You won’t even have to wait for the dough to cool down. By the time you’ve thought about what you’re about to make, they’re practically ready!  Then all you have to do is create an even fry to prevent the croquettes from breaking, and it’s time to tuck in.  You can see the end result in the photo above: delicious little golden, crispy balls which are best enjoyed warm and in good company.  What do you think? Special salad with leek mayonnaise

Special salad with leek mayonnaise

If, at Conservas Serrats, someone asks us about glamour couples, we have to admit that we don’t immediately think of Brad and Angelina. Call it professional bias, but when we think of perfect couples, we think of Bay of Biscay white tuna with mayonnaise. We can’t think of any other couple that gets on so well and combines so perfectly.   Our friend Silvia evidently agrees: she adores cooking, as her blog shows (Jugando a las cocinitas), and has gone one step further by creating an original mayonnaise which provides the dressing for an outstanding salad dish. For us, whatever Silvia says is a culinary article of faith so we’re off to find our whisk! Read more
